This course provides a comprehensive and engaging introduction to the fundamentals of songwriting. Students will learn how to craft original songs by exploring key elements such as melody, harmony, song structure, lyric writing, and the use of lead sheets. The course is designed to guide students through the entire songwriting process-from developing musical ideas to completing full compositions.

A key focus will be on helping students express their ideas clearly and creatively, while also learning how to organize and present their songs in written form. Writing lead sheets-combining melody, chords, and lyrics-will be introduced as a practical tool for sharing and performing music with others.

Students will also study examples from a variety of musical styles to better understand different songwriting techniques. Through hands-on exercises, creative assignments, and group feedback, students will build a solid foundation and develop their own songwriting voice.
